When there is a risk of pollution on site, businesses are required to take precautions. These include bunding storage containers and maintaining a stock of suitable spill equipment.

In order to clean spillages quickly, safely and efficiently, spill kits need to contain cleaning materials relevant to the specific pollutant. Spill kits are available specific to oils & lubricants, for hazardous chemicals, and general purpose kits for mixed or unknown pollutants.
