Dredging Support in Portsmouth
Working closely with Boskalis Westminister, one of the world’s premier dredging contractors, we provided heavy support for a project in Portsmouth Harbour in preparation for the arrival of 2 new Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers – the largest ships ever built for the Royal Navy.
Over 3 million cubic metres of clay, sand and gravel need to be removed from 2 miles of Portsmouth Harbour, covering an area larger than 200 football pitches.
We have found that due to the history of Portsmouth harbour, all sorts of treasures have emerged from the bottom of the harbour!
Boskalis Westminister chartered 4 of our vessels; Willpower, Wilanne, Willendeavour and the Wilcarry 501.
NB: As of October 2022 we no longer own Wilanne.
