Charity Round Up for 2024

It’s been another busy year for our charity involvement in 2024.

We’ve supported 2 headline charities in 2024:

The directors chose Southampton Hospitals Charity, supporting their main fundraising project “Light the South” an art trail of 40 individually designed lighthouses throughout Southampton & Cowes.

The charity helps to enhance the treatment and care of patients in areas of the hospital service that fall outside NHS funding. To find out more about the charity, please visit their website: www.southamptonhospitalscharity.org

Our staff chose MIND, which provides information, support and advice for anyone struggling with mental health. To find out more, please visit their website: www.mind.org.uk

We have been doing numerous events and fundraising throughout the year to support these charities.

 

LIGHT THE SOUTH – SOUTHAMPTON HOSPITALS CHARITY

We were thrilled to be the Logistics partner for this fantastic art trail throughout Southampton and Cowes. We enjoyed seeing these completed lighthouses arrive in our yard for storage before the trail started. All the lighthouses had been individually designed by artists and were a fantastic sight. We were thrilled to have Rosalyn Burroughs design our own lighthouse. Her design was entitled “For the Love of Public Transport” which we thought was a great message for our city. Our skilled drivers transported the lighthouses to their destinations in Southampton and Cowes where they were enjoyed throughout the summer. They made a fantastic sight when they all came together for Southampton International Boat Show in September, where some of our staff volunteered to raise awareness of the upcoming auction to the general public. The grand auction raised vital finds for Southampton Hospitals Charity.

We were very pleased to also be able to hand over a cheque to Natasha Acharekar, Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager at Southampton Hospitals Charity.

 

MIND

We were delighted to wear our MIND tops for the various running events that we attended throughout 2024 raising money for this fantastic charity. These events included the ABP Southampton Marathon; the Romsey Relay Marathon and the New Forest Marathon.

2024 was a very special year for us as we celebrated our 130th anniversary. We held a summer party for all our staff & their partners and raised lots of money through our raffle. We were very grateful to our wonderful customers and suppliers who generously donated some fantastic prizes for this.

 

Our staff also carried out their own challenges to raise money for MIND, including a boxing match and a 24 hour running race around an athletics track! Well done to everyone who got involved.
