A successful event showcasing the joint capability of Williams Shipping and DP World

Recently we had the pleasure of hosting some of our key cargo customers in Southampton, and what an incredible experience it was! We spent a very enjoyable afternoon of friendly competition at a clay pigeon shoot. Afterwards, we enjoyed drinks & dinner back in Southampton.

During the event, we took the opportunity to highlight our valued partnership with DP World with our joint capability to support our customers cargo requirements and showcase the impressive capabilities and range of options across Williams Shipping, DP World and the Port of Southampton. A special thank you goes to James Francis from DP World for hosting us and providing an insightful update on the port’s developments and operations.
 
Jonathan Williams, from our team, presented a brief history of Williams Shipping, taking our guests through our company’s evolution before diving into the specifics of our cargo handling facilities. He emphasized our ability to offer a full-service experience, from collecting cargo from the docks to expertly preparing it for its onward journey.

Our close proximity to the port, combined with our skilled lashers and handlers, ensures smooth and efficient operations every step of the way. Our highly trained drivers also play a key role in ensuring the cargo reaches its destination safely and on time.
 
To provide a deeper understanding of our operations, our customers were given a tour of our cargo handling yard, where they could see our facilities and team in action. We were also grateful to DP World for allowing us to take a tour of their impressive container terminal, which provided our guests with a unique perspective on port operations.
 
As a highlight of the trip, our customers had the opportunity to experience a boat ride on one of our pilot boats, Willfreedom. This gave them an up-close and personal view of the docks from the water, offering a fascinating look at the scale and complexity of port operations.
