The date was Saturday 29th June 2024, the venue, a beautifully decorated marquee in the grounds of a quaint family friendly pub at the edge of the picturesque market town of Romsey. This is where 160 of the Williams Shipping team and their partners, came together to celebrate the milestone 130th Anniversary of Williams Shipping and raised £2,400 for the charity Mind.

Summer party outside

The evening began with a refreshing glass of fizz and Pimm’s, and a chance for the Williams Shipping team to mix with colleagues from the various divisions including Marine, Logistics, Lubricants and Willbox. Thankfully, the container of sunny weather that was promised was delivered on schedule!

A sumptuous BBQ, accompanied with a generous salad station, followed and was just in time for the raffle to raise funds for the charity Mind. With such a deserving charity, that makes such a difference to the lives of people suffering with mental health, and thanks to some prizes generously donated by our wonderful business partners, a total of £2,400 was raised on the day.

As the evening drew to close, the Williams Shipping team and their partners had one final chance to show their best moves on the dancefloor.

Tor Williams, who organised this milestone celebration commented:
“We wanted the Williams Shipping team and their partners to celebrate this special evening with us. Even after 130 years, we are still a family-focused company, and carry those values forward to ensure they are engrained in our day-to-day business activities and the company culture. We are pleased that so many of the team and their partners were able to attend. We would also like to thank the companies that donated prizes, which helped raise funds for Mind, who are one of our headline charities for 2024, and have brought so much positivity and hope to individuals suffering from mental health. Finally, we would also like to thank the team at the Cromwell Arms for their hospitality and great service”.

Companies that donated prizes include Earlcoate, A & E Insurance, Adams Morey, Wilsons Solicitors, Spicers Hampers, and Neil And Toyah Holland & Limewood Hotel.
